Approved Tasks for Safe Approach Distance - Special

In December 2012 the Blue Book introduced changes to the rules for Safe Approach Distance – Special.  Those changes include:

  • an increase to the exclusion zone from 300mm to 450mm; and
  • mandating that SAD-Special shall only be applied when performing “approved tasks”.
